The Department of Industry and Resources (DoIR) spearheads the Western Australian Government's drive for responsible and sustainable industrial development, investment and export growth.
The department integrates all of Western Australia's non-rural industries to identify and encourage new investment and business opportunities and stimulate exports.
Covering areas as diverse as resource development, defence, bio-industries, manufacturing, ICT, science and innovation and shipbuilding, DoIR continues to attract industry to Western Australia and assists those wishing to export.
For existing mature industries, the department provides advice and market intelligence - both through its WA-based analysts and the biggest network of overseas trade and investment offices of any State - with offices in Europe, the Middle East, China, Japan, India, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia and the United States.

Export Finance and Insurance Corporation (EFIC), Australia’s export credit agency, provides specialist finance and insurance products beyond what is available in the commercial market. It is a self-funding statutory corporation wholly owned by the Commonwealth of Australia.
EFIC works with Australian exporters and investors, international buyers, banks and other financiers to provide tailored finance packages, including finance guarantees, insurance, bonding facilities and working capital finance through EFIC Headway. EFIC Headway can help small to medium-sized exporters who have reached their bank limits and need to extend their lending facilities.
