Genalysis Laboratory Services
Genalysis is one of the largest, privately owned, independent laboratories in Australia, and has its headquarters in the suburb of Maddington. All analytical work is carried out in one large centralised laboratory facility. Since1988, between 5000,000 and 1,000,000 samples have been processed annually.
The Maddington head office and laboratory has an extensive range of facilities; including digestion laboratories, instrumentation and atomic absorption spectrometry. A recent innovation is the installation of a fully robotic sample preparation cell.

North Star Cruises
The True North was launched in February 2005 and features the ultimate in comfort and style. Passenger numbers are limited to 36 and an Australian crew of 20 provides personalised service. The ship is purpose built for accessing shallow river systems and offers several lavish vantage points including a sundeck, an observation lounge and a ship’s lounge/bar.
Cruise options include the “Kimberley Wilderness Cruise” – a six or 13 night cruise along Australia’s remote north-west coast, the “Over the Top” cruise – a two week odyssey across the very top of Australia, “Coral Atoll” cruises to the Rowley Shoals, the 10 night “West Coast Explorer Cruise’ and, the eight night “Adventures in Paradise cruise – untamed Papua New Guinea in ultimate luxury.
North Star Cruises Australia is the Kimberley’s longest established adventure-cruise operator and the winner of both State and National tourism award.
Regional Exporter Award
Albany Plantation Export Company Pty Ltd
In 2000, Albany Plantation Export Company became the first company in Western Australia to set up a plantation timber processing and export business.
As the front-runner it successfully developed and enforced a strict code of practice and ethics in environmental and community matters that lead the industry. Working closely with all levels of government, their departments and the community has led to an acceptance of the new industry in a highly sensitive environmental climate.
By 2007/8 exports will increase to over one million tonnes per annum, worth in excess of $60 million which will create over 180 full time regional jobs and become the catalyst for many value-added industries based on plantation timber.
