About the Awards
The Western Australian Industry and Export Awards are the State's most prestigious business awards.
They acknowledge the innovation, hard work and success of businesses, large and small,
in reaching new markets.
These awards now in their 20th year, also acknowledge the important contribution that Western Australian businesses
make to the local economy through job creation and increased prosperity in the community.
The Department of Industry and Resources, as the Government agency that manages
these awards, strongly encourages you to consider nominating for these influential awards.
Industry Award Categories
C.Y.O'Connor Award for Excellence in Engineering and Technology
For excellence in engineering, technology, medical technology, information technology and/or technical research and development.
Marketing and Design Excellence Award
For outstanding achievement or excellence in a marketing campaign or implementation of design.
Innovation Excellence Award
For achievement by a Western Australian innovator in developing an innovative product, process, service or technology with outstanding commercial potential.
Export Award Categories
Emerging Exporter Award
For outstanding export achievement by an enterprise, in any industry sector, which
has been exporting goods or services for up to three years.
Small Business Export Award
For outstanding export achievement by any business with a total annual sales not exceeding five million dollars.
Small to Medium Manufacturer Export Award
For outstanding export achievement by a manufacturer with total annual sales not exceeding $30 million.
Large Advanced Manufacturer Export Award
For outstanding export achievement by a manufacturer with total annual sales of more than $30 million.
Agribusiness Export Award
For outstanding export achievement in the field of agricultural products, services or technology, including processed
foods and beverages, and the forestry, fisheries and fibres industries.
Information and Communication Technology Export Award
For outstanding export achievement in the field of information and communications products, technology or services.
Services Export Award
For outstanding export achievement in a recognised services industry, such as the consultancy, finance,
insurance, legal, health, design, community, and engineering sectors.
Minerals and Energy Export Award
For outstanding export achievement in the production or primary
processing of extractive and value-added minerals or energy products.
Education and Training Export Award
For outstanding innovation and export achievement in the field of education and training services, expertise and curriculum.
Arts and Entertainment Export Award
For outstanding export achievement across all cultural industries including fashion, design, fine arts, performing arts,
electronic and on-line entertainment.
Sports, Events and Tourism Export Award
For outstanding achievement in the inbound tourism sector, including International sporting events and recreation;
International events/meeting and conferences held in Australia; accommodation, tour companies,
attractions, airlines, cruise lines, and other transport operations.
Regional Exporter Award
For outstanding export achievement by a business whose head office is based in a non-metropolitan location.
