Commonwealth Approvals
Project developments in Western Australia may require approvals under Commonwealth legislation. Processes under the Native Title Act 1993 (Cwlth), Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (Cwlth) and Petroleum (Submerged Lands) Act 1967 (Cwlth), are considered in some detail in the sections dealing with Primary Approvals.
Commonwealth approvals may also be required for certain activities or concessions, such as the level of foreign investment, or particular tariff and duty relief.
The Commonwealth MPF program is currently under review.
