Prospect magazine now available

The current edition of Western Australia’s international resources development magazineProspect is now available.

The March - May 2008 issue is packed with information about some of the State’s most exciting developments and projects taking place in the resources sector.

Read about how Western Australia’s renewable energy sector is heating up with the recent release of close to 500 geothermal acreage blocks for exploration.

Department of Industry and Resources Director of Petroleum and Royalties Bill Tinapple said the release was a significant step in the State’s resources industry.

“There is an increasing demand for clean energy and geothermal energy is one of the cleanest forms energy available,” Mr Tinapple said.

A feature story on Fortescue Metals Group (FMG) final stages of development of its Cloudbreak operations in Western Australia’s Pilbara region focuses on the innovative technology the company is introducing.

The Cloudbreak development will represent one of the largest single iron ore mines in the world, and will also represent significant earnings potential for the State and Australia as a whole.

Readers can also gain an insight into plans surrounding the State’s Australian Marine Complex (AMC) and how it has recently been used for a number of projects for the booming resources sector.

More than 100 businesses are now located within the AMC and Business Development Manager, AMC Management (WA) Pty Ltd, Jonathan Smith said the complex enabled Western Australia to enhance significant natural resources and marine sector development opportunities.

Also included are the magazine’s regular features, including commodity trends and significant resources projects underway or planned in Western Australia.

Prospect is released quarterly and is developed by the Department of Industry and Resources.
