Native Title, Licences and Permits

The Native Title Act 1993 (Cwlth) has made it necessary to change the manner in which petroleum exploration and production activities in Western Australia (WA) and its adjacent coastal waters are administered by the Department of Industry and Resources.

Land Access

The Department of Industry and Resources (DoIR), Petroleum and Royalties Division deals with access issues associated with Indigenous interests, including native title, Aboriginal heritage and reserve lands.
